Why I Do This Work
I know what it feels like to lead on empty — showing up for everyone else while quietly burning out, doubting your direction, and wondering when you lost the spark that once inspired you.
For years, I led teams and projects through change and pressure across health, community and leadership roles. Life brought its own lessons too: career transitions, health challenges and moments that tested my resilience, confidence and perspective.
These experiences taught me something powerful. Wellbeing isn’t a luxury. It’s the foundation of great leadership, healthy teams and meaningful impact.
That’s why I created Wellbeing by Design, to support leaders and organisations navigate complexity with calm, clarity and confidence. When we lead from wellbeing, we don’t just perform better, we create sustainable, lasting impact.

Hi, I’m Michelle Hasani — your Workplace Wellbeing and Mental Fitness Strategist, and a change-maker based in Adelaide, working across Australia. I help leaders and workplaces reimagine how we live, work and lead through wellbeing-centred, evidence-based strategy.
With over two decades of experience in leadership, wellbeing and community development across government, not-for-profit and business. I bring a blend of evidence-based insight, empathy and practical strategy to every conversation. I was recognised as HCANZA’s Health & Wellness Coach of the Year (2024).,
Across my career, I’ve worked in local, national and international contexts, from grassroots initiatives to policy reform, leadership development and complex systems change. I’ve partnered with government departments, nonprofits and purpose-driven businesses to embed wellbeing into leadership, culture and strategy.
The Heart Behind Wellbeing by Design
I founded Wellbeing by Design because I’ve seen firsthand how profoundly wellbeing shapes the way we live, work, and lead. When people are mentally fit, supported, and connected, they don’t just feel better they lead with clarity, confidence, and impact.
My own experiences navigating burnout, breast cancer at 45, and early menopause have taught me that wellbeing isn’t a luxury—it’s the foundation for sustainable leadership, healthy teams, and thriving cultures.
I’m grounded, compassionate, and results-focused, blending real-life insight with practical frameworks that help people and teams thrive. Today, Wellbeing by Design partners with leaders and organisations to create workplaces where people and performance grow together—because when wellbeing is at the centre, everything changes for the better.
